Naples Better Government has completed its evaluation of City Council members elected in 2018-2019. Having been elected in the April 2019 special election to complete the term of former Councilwoman Linda Penniman, Councilman Raymond Christman’s one-year evaluation was delayed due to COVID.
Councilman Christman recently appeared before the NBG Board to discuss his accomplishments and overall performance during his first year as compared to his campaign platform provided and discussed with NBG at the time he ran for office.
Fielding questions concerning residential quality of life, development and preservation of what he feels is Naples’ greatest natural asset—water, his diverse background, experience and willingness to reach out to others to forge relationships to assist with solving major issues is a plus. Claiming the elements of independence, experience and integrity of major importance to him, Councilman Christman hopes to continue doing what he feels right when it comes to future issues ranging from affordable housing and the ethics code to how to shorten City Council meetings. For his dedication to the position and doing primarily what he said he would do when he ran for office, Councilman Christman was awarded a grade of B+.
NBG is entering its 30th year in existence and is the longest running
non-partisan political committee in Collier County. For more
